Thomas Kurz studied Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz before he obtained a Master’s degree in International Affairs at the Hertie School in Berlin. During his master's and especially in his exchange semester at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., he specialized in International Security. His research focuses on the relationship between migration and terrorism.
The Berlin Pride attacker was German-born, yet right-wing populists blamed migration. Drawing on research into migration and terrorism, this article shows why the attack points to domestic radicalisation, not a “Trojan horse”, and why integration remains part of effective security policy.
