
Edward Bogan is a veteran CIA operational leader and intelligence expert specializing in counterterrorism, global risk, and international security. During his 24-year CIA career, he served as Chief of Station and Chief of Base in multiple international and high-risk environments, as well as Chief of Operations for the Pakistan/Afghanistan and Syria/Iraq Departments at the CIA’s Counterterrorism Center. After leaving government service, Bogan founded the Institute for the Study of States of Exception and became a consultant to public and private-sector organizations. He currently serves as a Senior Advisor at the Atlantic Council and a member of The Cipher Brief’s Senior Expert Network.
